Leadership in the kingdom of God…
Over this last year, leadership has constantly been evolving. The Lord has been continually refining what it looks like to be a man and a leader in this community. At the beginning of the world race I looked a leadership as anyone does; leadership was being in charge and being the person who people listen to. Leadership was all about someone who makes the decisions and gets a lot of attention for it. While in Guatemala leadership was really reshaped, the way I looked at being a man and a leader. The Lord reshaped leadership there and showed me how to live by my conviction and lead in the way the Lord prompted me too. I learned how to be a leader who wasn’t “in charge”. Fast forward about a month I was asked to be a team leader. It was honestly something that worried me a bit, the pride that I lost in Guatemala was not something that I wanted to pick back up. After a lot of prayer I took the spot. I ended up leading all guys. That season that has just ended and it taught me so much about leadership. It taught me how to empower other into also being leaders. It taught me how to accept the authority I had been given. It also was a time that I had to learn to not bare weight that wasn’t mine to carry as the leader. Leadership currently has changed again, as I am not leading now. Being a leader right now looks like me just living out the convictions the Lord has given me.
I am so overjoyed by the life lessons that I’ve learned on The Race!

One response to “Leadership”

  1. Banks! It’s been a gift to see you step into the leadership and authority that God has put on your life, regardless of title! You lead in zeal for the Lord, conviction of the Spirit, and passion for the Kingdom. The Lord has such good plans for you as you humbly walk with him. Others can follow you as you follow Christ because you submit first to His leadership over you. Proud of you, brother!
